Recommendations or offers to review books for publication in Human Ecology Review should be emailed to humanecologyreviewjournal@gmail.com. Books must be relevant to Human Ecology and SHE members’ core interests. Preference will be given to books written by Society members. There is no set format for a review, but the overall thesis should be summarized, strengths and weaknesses highlighted, and comments on the book’s contribution to Human Ecology made. A word count of about 1,500 is recommended. Books reviewed in HER will be given extra weighting in determining the Gerald L. Young Book Award for scholarly work in the field of human ecology.
