Australian/Filipino Human Ecology Partnership

The College of Human Ecology at the University of the Philippines, Los Banos recently hosted the Asia-Pacific conference on the Human Ecology of Island Resiliency and Sustainability. SHE President Robert Dyball from the Australian National University Human Ecology program was a keynote speaker. During the proceedings a formal Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UPLB and the ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society, which is home to the ANU Human Ecology program. The MoU is designed to build networks between the two human ecology programs, facilitate student opportunities and professional fellowships, and create partnerships for joint research into human-environmental systems across the Philippines and South-East Asia more generally. Developments under this new initiative will be announced in due course.
